论文对数字图像压缩技术进行了综述。详细阐述了图像压缩的必要性和可能性,图像压缩编码的分类,图像压缩技术发展的历史与现状,图像压缩的一般模型,以及复原图像质量的性能评价标准。

Abstract: This paper summarizes the image compression technology. It expatiates on the necessity and possibility of image compression,the classification of image coding,the history and actuality of image compression development,the general model of image compression,as well as the performance appraising criterion of recovered image quality.
